“the cosmic has a sado-masochistic humor. it forces you to live contradictions you never ever thought you would.“
Who said there is such a thing as coincidence?
Everything in this universe conspires to make happen what is to happen anyway.
Choice just prolongs the actual route, but it eventually takes you there.
Life is a sadist comedian.
Pain is sometimes funny, at least after the needle stings.
The wounds that don’t bleed hurts the most.
The love seldom returned loves the most.
The shortest encounters are the most bliss.
And I?
I live irony.
And the cosmic has a hand on it.
the universe is the ultimate conspirator.
relieving.
everything will eventually fall into place.
let’s hope soon.
relationship, work, family, friends, list is endless.
we are all stupid. at one point, i mean.
if you haven’t felt stupid for doing something at least once,
you better go hang yourself.
opportunity is usually the main culprit,
whether grabbed or missed.
grabbed an opportunity, did not like it, blamed self. stupid.
missed the opportunity, prospect gets to go, blamed self. stupid.
left a stable and secure situation for another. new one failed. stupid.
tried to fix the old one, but it just is never the same:
in between broken and fixed. stupid.
you never actually know you’ve done something stupid until it’s done.
and all you have left is that constant wish in your head that you didn’t have to make that choice.
and even that wish is stupid.
well yeah, foolish comes close.
but not much.

Five friends all turning 30. Countless rounds of drinks fire up
conversations that spin around mundane and the serious. Midnight of
Saturday until the wee hour of the last round of orders at the Penguin
café/bar/gallery.
This is the scene of the Last Order sa
Penguin, the 2001 Palanca Grand Prize winning play of notable
playwright, director and filmmaker Chris Martinez, which will be
brought to life by the Dulaang UPB (University of the Philippines
Baguio).
College of Communication faculty members and students,
together with some invited film and stage performers, make up the cast
under the direction of Arjay Arellano, Communication Instructor and
Dulaang UPB head.
The witty script crafted by Martinez captures
the adventures and misadventures of young Filipino urbanites who are
coming to grips with life, love, and who they are. Both the humor and
the drama in the dialogues, peppered with references to contemporary
Philippine society, will connect with the audience.
This
production is the first in a series of performances that will be staged
by the Dulaang UPB in line with UP’s centennial celebration this year.
Play dates are on March 3-7, 7:00 p.m., at the UP Baguio Bulwagang Juan Luna.

i don’t like transition feelings.
(or so i think it’s what it is)
i’m not exactly anything.
i’m not sad.
but i’m not happy either.
nothing moves me.
nothing inspires me.
i cannot find anything funny.
i cannot find anything sad.
i cannot even bring myself to laughter even if stars dance above me.
you can hurt me and i will not bleed.
nothing.
just numbness.

life is a roller-coaster ride.
sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down.
anywhere you seem to be, it’s just part of the entire thrill…
the anticipation, the exhilaration and that moment of release.
every chapter in our lives are all just part of that ride.
it is really up to us,
up to how we see things if we will enjoy this ride or not.
believe me, even thrill-seekers have days of thrill-me-nots.
how we see life is mostly dependent on us.
are you turned upside down? maybe.
is the ride so darn-fuckin’ barfy? maybe.
are you that one who can’t wait to end the ride?
or are you the one who can’t wait to line up again
even before the ride is over?
any which way, life is a ride.
so ride it… and ride it well.
that does not mean you need to enjoy every moment of it,
or to pretend that you are enjoying them when you’re not.
but open your eyes as you’re riding.
look up to the heavens when you’re up there,
it can make you feel you’re one with the universe.
but also try to look down to everything around you,
you will see how small we really are. almost just dusts.
look about you when you’re down.
it can give you comfort knowing you can fall and not get hurt too much.
if you invited people to this ride,
you will either see smiling faces when you’re happy
and empathic faces when you’re not.
if you decided to come alone, then deal with it.
appreciate the ride. appreciate all the chapters,
even those that made you throw up
even if they’re still making you throw-up by sheer memory.
it is the ride that makes you appreciate the ups and the downs
of all the chapters in your life.
without the downs, how would you know you’re already up?
if you don’t recognize anticipation, how can you understand satisfaction?
ride life, ride it well.

Don’t be afraid of conflict today. Fighting for your beliefs is hugely rewarding.
This may sound counterintuitive, but the stars say you should seek
out conflict today. You’re not one for confrontation, but it is
sometimes a necessary evil, and it’s something you should perhaps work
on becoming more comfortable with. The future holds some battles for
you, and practicing on some easy skirmishes will help you later on. You
will be always be able to see the problems at hand, but you should
develop more skills that allow you to do something about them.
